Chestnut honey is typical of hilly areas where chestnut plants abound.
With a flavor with hints of bitterness and an intense smell of forest wood, it is dark amber in color and tends to be fluid. It is in fact a honey that hardly crystallizes, which is why it lends itself to be used both to garnish and flavor sweet and savory dishes and to be consumed simply spread on a slice of homemade bread. Especially suitable for accompanying aged cheeses and game dishes. Excellent dissolved in warm milk to provide relief in cases of coughs.
